Unfortunately, the majority of any LTC, SNF, etc are understaffed. Whether corporate or privately owned it is all about the money/profit.

It is best to try to keep your loved ones at home. The Kohn facilities Glendale Place, Lodge Care Centers, Western Hills, Oak Creek in Dayton and the new Sanctuary Pointe in Colerain Twp are owned by the Kohn's. They are only about the money. Staff turnover is high bc they pay very low wages.

Health insurance benefits are terrible. Raises are ten cents. There is no consistency in management. The HR staff is not college educated.

They try to pay as little as possible which reflects the ignorance of the key positions. Also never judge or NEVER make a decision based upon the yearly State surveys of any facility. The surveys are not worth the paper they are composed. It is all political and as in any political arena everyone is for sale.

State Surveyors do not make a substantial amount of money compared to the millions a LTC profits.

I actually can't bear those servicing firms that only function for profit! Although it's still a business that should be, of course, profitably money-spinning.

There should have a fine line between earnings and suitable consideration. I just recently found out that some of the giants for long term care insurance providers (such as on this list https://www.infolongtermcare.org/long-term-care-insurance-information/a-guide-to-understanding-the-ratings-for-long-term-care-insurance-companies/top-long-term-care-insurance-carriers/) merely focus on the earnings.

It’s a sad reality but where we can truly rely now?
